This afternoon the air quality index crept into moderate category in the Coeur d'Alene area. Wildfires in the vicinity of Quincy and Wenatchee,
Washington are generating smoke and westerly winds are transporting the smoke
to northern Idaho and the Coeur d’Alene area. Additional, information
regarding the wildfires can be found at: https://www.nifc.gov/fireInfo/nfn.htm and at https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5282/
. Satellite imagery of the smoke transport to the area can
be viewed at: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/wfo/otx/h5-loop-vis.html.
This site is an effort by county, state, tribal, and federal agencies to coordinate and aggregate information for Idaho communities affected by wildfire smoke. The information is posted here by the agencies themselves.
