Smoke persists over southern Idaho

Air quality forecasts for today are in the Good to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups Category.

Conditions look favorable in North Idaho while smoke persists over southern Idaho. There will be a slight improvement over the Upper Snake River Plain today, however, concentrations will remain elevated. Conditions will likely deteriorate over the Central Idaho mountains south of Idaho County. Elevated smoke will be present and increase from south to north. Tomorrow, winds should shift to the northwest, which would allow for a cleaner air mass to move into the state.
