Hazy skies expected to continue through the weekend for much of Idaho

Under the current high pressure weather condition smoke from regional wildfires will continue to produce some hazy skies throughout much of the state today, August 1, through the coming weekend. Air quality at ground level will likely deteriorate as the week progresses but at this time no serious buildup is anticipated. This may change if fire activity changes. Under stable weather patterns like this pollutant levels will often build during the evening and early morning hours before clearing out in the afternoon. Be aware of changing conditions to protect your health. Smoke from wildfires can move into the area and degrade air quality quickly.
