Most of Idaho remains in the Moderate to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category
due to current weather conditions and wildfires burning in
Washington, Canada, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Hazy and smoky conditions
are expected to persist through the weekend for most of Idaho. Weather
forecasts are beginning to hint at a possible weather change coming early next
week.
Air
Quality Advisories and Burn Bans Currently in Effect
- The DEQ Boise Regional
Office issued an Air Quality Forecast and Caution through Wednesday August
9 at 3pm, for Ada, Canyon, Valley, Washington, Payette, Gem, Owyhee, and
Elmore counties.
- The DEQ Lewiston Office
issued an Air Quality Forecast and Caution through Friday August 11 at
12pm, for Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce counties,
river corridors, and surrounding areas off the Nez Perce Reservation.
- The DEQ Twin Fall Regional
Office an Air Quality Forecast and Caution through Wednesday, August 9
at 1pm, for Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, Blaine, Camas, Twin Falls,
Minidoka, and Cassia Counties.
- The DEQ Coeur d'Alene
Regional Office issued an Air Quality Advisory through Friday August
11 at 1pm, for Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone
counties.
- The DEQ Pocatello Regional
Office has lifted their Air Quality Forecast and Caution for Bannock,
Power and franklin counties. Bannock County remains a No Burn area due
to a county fire safety ordinance currently in effect.
