Seattle – (Friday, July 16, 2021) -- Air quality has improved on the Kootenai Reservation, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in coordination with the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, lifts its air quality ban on open burning for the reservation effective immediately.
Restrictions
on open burning by other agencies remain in place, including those for fire
danger. Check with your local fire department or appropriate tribal agency
before burning.
EPA
thanks all reservation residents for their cooperation in protecting and
maintaining good air quality.
