Air Quality Advisory Remains in Effect on the Nez Perce Reservation

The Air Quality Advisory (AQA) issued for the Nez Perce Reservation remains in effect. Air quality is currently ranging from the “Moderate” to “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” categories of the Air Quality Index (AQI). Smoke may improve or worsen and some areas may be more impacted than others depending on regional wildfire activity.

For up-to-date air quality monitoring info, visit the Idaho Smoke Blog at idsmoke.blogspot.com. Follow AQI recommendations by reviewing the Community Guide for Staying Healthy During Wildfires or Activity Guideline Recommendations for Children During Wildfire Smoke Events

Smoke-Sensitive Groups include:
·         Infants, children, pregnant women, elders
·         People who have high exposure (those who work, exercise, or spend extensive time outdoors)
·         People with existing health conditions or chronic diseases like asthma, bronchitis, COPD, emphysema, heart disease or diabetes.

The AQA remains in effect until 10:00am, Monday, August 27, 2018. No EPA/NPT burn permits are approved. Conditions will be reassessed and an air quality update issued at that time.
