Air Quality Summary Report - Pioneer Fire     For: Friday, August 26, 2016

FIRE, WEATHER AND SMOKE SYNOPSIS
Weather: Mostly sunny and warmer today. Temperatures in the 70’s on the ridges, and 80’s in the valleys. Relative humidity low to mid- teens in the valleys and 19 to 24 on the ridges. Transport winds NW 8 to 12 mph. On the ridges expect 6-9 mph with gusts to 14, and valleys becoming up-canyon 3-5 mph with gusts 10 mph after 1300. Inversion break expected between 12 and 1 pm. Dry SW winds are expected for the weekend.
Fire Activity: Active fire northeast of Pioneerville and north of highway 17 in Deadwood Canyon. NW winds could provide spotting conditions in the O’Keefe creek drainage.
Smoke Summary:  Smoke will concentrate in the low valleys this morning but will scour out in the afternoon when valley alignment and NW winds prevail. Today, the most significant smoke impacts will be to Lowman but Moderate conditions in Fairfield, Garden Valley, and Ketchum.   
We will continue to experience smoke impacts from fires burning to the north and west of our forecast area.
