Air Quality Summary Report  -  Pioneer Fire             For: Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Air Resource Advisors: Andrea Holland (andreahollandsears@gmail.com ) & Duncan Leao (dleao@fs.fed.us)

FIRE, WEATHER AND SMOKE SYNOPSIS
Weather:  Much of the same weather as yesterday with no major systems forecasted in the next couple days. Humidity is higher today; temperatures cooler. Winds are expected to be light from the SW around 6-12 mph in the afternoon primarily along ridgetops and upper slopes.
Fire Activity:  Fire activity and growth will respond to the continued drying of fuels. Burnout operations will occur on the western edge of the line today.  Active terrain dominated fire behavior will persist with upslope runs and group torching along with spotting distances up to ¾ mile expected.
Smoke Summary: Smoke impacts today may be less than in recent days due to smaller fire growth from yesterday.  Smoke from yesterday’s fire will linger around Payette River Valley this morning until smoke inversion lifts in the afternoon.  Pioneer and other fires in the area may impact areas around Stanley later in the afternoon.  Other areas may see better air quality however a light haze will linger around the region.
