Pioneer Fire Air Quality Summary Report for August 5, 2016

Fire, Weather and Smoke Synopsis
Weather:  Slightly cooler temps with higher relative humidity today as a result of moist air masses from the South.  Transport winds will be from the South with a slight chance of late afternoon thunderstorms.
Fire Activity:  Fire activity will respond more to terrain driven winds with expected light daytime upslope and upvalley winds.  Chance of thunderstorms may increase fire spread as a result of gusty outflow winds.
Smoke Summary: With exception of upper South Fork Payette River valley and Stanley basin light upvalley winds may gradually move smoke out of some affected areas after noon.  Areas and highways closest to the fire will see greater smoke impacts early morning and late this evening and into tomorrow morning as smoke settles into river valleys.  Adjacent fires in the region may also add to hazy conditions in Snake River Valley.
