Air quality forecasts are in the Good to Moderate categories.
Morning satellite imagery shows relatively clear conditions across the state. There is some light smoke trapped in the valleys of North Idaho but this should ventilate out as the inversions break later this morning. Major smoke impacts will be limited to the immediate south and east of local fires. There may be some occasional periods of smoke that move across the Panhandle and southwest Idaho but this will mostly present as a general haze with little impact on surface concentrations. Overnight some smoke may settle into the valleys of the St. Joe and Clearwater drainages. This should be temporary as north to northeast winds persist through the night and clearing is expected by Thursday afternoon.
Video: HRRR-Smoke Near Surface Smoke model initialized at 12z (6am MDT) and valid through 12noon MDT on Thursday shows a general clearing on Wednesday from north to south with occasional periods of smoke in the Panhandle and South Idaho then additional clearing on Thursday.
