Air quality forecasts for today are in the Good to Unhealthy categories.
Smoke
impacts remain high this morning from the Nevada border to the Canadian border.
Eastern and southeastern Idaho remain relatively clear but are seeing
increasing concentrations. Today, smoke is expected to circle around central
Idaho and remain in the area before rapidly expanding in coverage late this
evening and into Saturday. Conditions on Saturday look to deteriorate
considerably with impacts expanding through southern Idaho beginning around 6
a.m. MDT and across the entire state by midnight. Sunday looks to continue
these elevated impacts through at least 6 p.m. MDT with the highest readings
across the southern Panhandle and south into the Treasure Valley, while lighter
concentrations are possible across the northern Panhandle and southeastern and
eastern Idaho. On Monday, conditions will remain elevated in the morning across
central and northern Idaho with an optimist’s hope of afternoon improvement in
those areas before once again deteriorating in the evening.
