Air quality forecasts for today are in the Good to Moderate Category.
Smoke will infiltrate the
southern Panhandle and central Idaho today entering Benewah and Latah Counties and
then Bonner and Idaho Counties by 9 p.m. local time. It will slowly dissipate
tonight. Smoke from Oregon and California will impact the Treasure Valley,
Owyhee County, and Twin Falls County
Saturday morning. It will expand into the Middle and Upper Snake River Plain
and then the Teton Valley by 3 p.m. local time
Saturday. By midnight Sunday, heavy smoke concentrations are expected from
Mountain Home south to the Nevada border and east to the Montana and Wyoming
borders before slowly dispersing throughout the day. Another wave of smoke is
expected Sunday afternoon that will cover all of southern Idaho. North Idaho
will have a fairly clear Saturday followed by
smoke impacts on Sunday. The smoke will enter via the Columbia Basin and encompass
the Panhandle and the northern fringes of central Idaho. On Monday, a brief clearing in the morning will be followed
by smoke from the southwest.
