Smoke impacts today are expected
to remain over south-central Idaho primarily due to local and regional
fires. West-Northwest winds will bring smoke primarily from Washington,
southern BC, and Oregon into Idaho. Due to light transport winds, any smoke
that is lofted will likely again settle into the area with the setting sun.
There will be widespread haze throughout the day, particularly over southern
Idaho, the Central Idaho Mountains, and the Panhandle due to regional transport
of smoke. This evening, expect smoke to drain into the Treasure Valley, Upper
Snake River Plain, and the Panhandle.
This model is suggesting
localized smoke impacts in the vicinity of Carey with regional transport
bringing widespread hazy conditions.
