Air Quality
Advisory Remains in Effect on the Nez Perce Reservation
The
Air Quality Advisory (AQA) issued for the Nez Perce Reservation remains in
effect.
Air quality is currently ranging from the “Moderate” to “Very Unhealthy” categories
of the Air Quality Index (AQI).
Smoke may improve or worsen and some areas may be more impacted than others
depending on regional wildfire activity.

Recommendations for Children During Wildfire Smoke Events
Smoke-Sensitive Groups
include:

Infants,
children, pregnant women, elders
·
People
who have high exposure (those who work, exercise, or spend extensive time
outdoors)
·
People
with existing health conditions or chronic diseases like asthma, bronchitis, COPD,
emphysema, heart disease or diabetes.
The
AQA remains in effect until 10:00am, Thursday, August 23, 2018. No
EPA/NPT burn permits are approved. Conditions will be reassessed and an air
quality update issued at that time.
